The Cogswell Award is the most prestigious honor in the industrial security field. Achieving this distinction requires extraordinary excellence involving a total team effort by top management, the facility security officer, and the facility work force.
The Cogswell Award is named in honor of the late Colonel James S. Cogswell, USAF, the first chief of the unified office of Industrial Security. Colonel Cogswell was responsible for developing the basic principles of the Industrial Security Program, including the Program's emphasis on partnership between industry and government to accomplish industrial security objectives, and excellence for the benefit of its ultimate customer, the U.S. warfighter.
On June 7, 2005, Ms. Mary H. Griggs, Deputy Director for Industrial Security, Defense Security Service, announced the 11 facilities selected to receive the 2005 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award at the Annual Seminar of the National Classification Management Society (NCMS) in Seattle, Washington.
Rincon Research is proud to be a recipient of that award having had a minimum of two consecutive superior industrial security review ratings.
